Yes. Cookies are small files that a site or its service provider transfers to your computer's hard drive through your Web browser (if you allow). These cookies enable the sites to recognize your browser and, if you have a registered account, associate it with your registered account.
We use cookies to understand and save your preferences for future visits and compile aggregate data about site traffic and site interaction so that we can offer better site experiences and tools in the future. We do not contract with third-party service providers.
I feel this is too broad and may also accommodate analytics, even though we don't use any analytics software. Can we be more specific about how cookies will be used? I have taken special measures on my browser to deal with tracking cookies and explicitly whitelist hosts to store persistant cookies. For someone like me, a broad scope is a red flag.
I'm not sure it is possible to write something else that would reflect what Gitea does. Do you have something in mind?
notabug.org has documented Gog's cookie usage(please see “cookie” section in https://notabug.org/tos#Privacy) but I suppose Hostea's privacy policy should also cover Hostea infrastructure like CI/CD and the forum. So it might be difficult to do notabug.org style cookie description, but we could be specific that we use cookies for authentication and persist user preferences only and not to analyze activity.
However, I'm merging this patch to expidite CHATONS compliance. As you mentioned, we will get back to this at a later point in time :)
Side note: this need significant work before it can go online. There are things that matter to you and me that should be included. I focused on what matters in the context of CHATONS which is not ideal.

@dachary: kindly use this method to insert manual anchors. Zola (apparently :D) has dead-link detection which caused build failures, so I've removed your manual anchors(please let me know if you'd like them back, I'll make the necessary changes) and enabled Zola's automatic anchoring.
